Major House Cleaning Sweeps Internet Forums
LeFlore County News has learned of what is apparently a hurried yet massive effort to 'cleanse' hundreds if not thousands of posts concerning Barbara Ellison and the scandal that is The Fence of LeFlore County from various internet forums catering to LeFlore County residents.
The first such purge occurred on the Oklahoma Forums site, where multiple threads containing hundreds of posts filled with hate filled rhetoric and making fun of Barbara Ellison's recent arrest on what many feel are trumped-up charges were deleted. This apparent panic driven purge also removed clandestine pictures of Ellison being escorted into the courthouse and which only two weeks ago were a source of pride for the dozen or so of her rabid detractors.
This of course leaves one to question why posts the forum's users were so proud of just days before suddenly became such a cause for embarrassment for them that they had to be removed.
Within one day of the cleansing of Oklahoma Forums a similar incident took place on the CLNK forum hosted by the Poteau, Oklahoma ISP of the same name.
For the past few weeks the moderator of the CLNK forum had permitted only a single thread containing any mention of Barbara Ellison and her fight for justice in this morally bankrupt county.
At the time of the cleansing of the CLNK forum that single thread contained hundreds of posts with the vast majority of them in support of Barbara Ellison and from a public aroused over her mistreatment at the hands of not only her neighbors but government officials.
The now deleted thread also contained some hate filled rhetoric from Ellison detractors and a picture of her being escorted into the courthouse in October. Evidently the operator of the CLNK forum took a page from book of the operator of the Oklahoma Forums and decided to eliminate posts regarding Barbara Ellison and the scandal before they slipped out of the closed community of LeFlore County.
We have reason to believe that these efforts at containment are doomed to fail, as rumor has it that every post had previously been archived and will again see the bright light of day. The only question is when and where they will resurface and in what form.
LeFlore County residents seeking an on-line home do have alternatives.
Alternatives which do not censor posts, whose moderators do not panic and suddenly cleanse the forum of posts which might embarrass themselves or their cronies. Alternatives where all are welcome, differing views are encouraged and truth is allowed, no matter whose ox is gored in the process.
Here are but two of our personal favorites:
The Oklahoma Forum
Barbara Ellison's Choctaw Issues Forum
Both are serving as information sources on both Barbara Ellison's fight for justice and the those trying to prevent her from obtaining it. In addition The Oklahoma Forum is a general purpose forum providing a broad spectrum of topics of interest to just about anyone.

As one who has defended Barbara Ellison and been "banned" from Oklahoma Forums and the Cyberlink (CLNK)sponsored forums, I am glad to see this public affirmation of what is going on LeFlore County to suppress the truth.
Interestingly, this evening I was engaged in an email interchange with the owner of one of these "one sided" forums because it seems my computer has been "hacked into" by someone seeking to harm/silence me.
I merely asked that the owners of the hosting ISP be aware that they were condoning such behavior by their appointed moderator, and wow!...I got told that if I "threatened" them again they would turn my correspondence over to their attorney.
Sheesh...all I said in my email to them was that their moderator had apparently tried to impact my computer negatively and asked that they take care of the problem and offer an apology.
That was a "threat?" Of course not. Their defensiveness seems to indicate that they know exactly how their moderator is misbehaving yet they choose not to hold that moderator accountable. (Nor themselves.)

Hmmmmmm. I received a hacker alert this morning also. I aint gonna let it worry me a lot because I do not have to hide who I am and what I think. I am older, but not quite as old as another poster on the other side of the fence. I am opinioned and proudly sign my name, and willing to take on all comers who do not agree with me.
I clicked on comments to say "thank you" for publishing this column.

Can you share with us the web site you were visiting when the alert was displayed?

I was collecting my IMs on Twisted Sisters. Another of the posters on this forum also received that message. Not the same one who already posted a concern about a hacker. And I received an email from still another this morning who asked me to use email to communicate with her instead of IMs because she to has a concern about being compromised, but did not mention a hacker alert.

A couple of hackers openly bragged about their hacking skills on the CLNK board last year. They also bragged that they could easily get through firewalls.
I wouldn't be surprised if those individuals are still there, under different identities.
