DA Farley Ward's Double Standards
On 10/24/05 Belinda Wolfe alleged in a complaint filed with the LeFlore County Sheriff's Office that Barbara Ellison had committed assault and battery upon her.
Also on 10/24/05 Barbara Ellison attempted to file a complaint with the LeFlore County Sheriff's Office in regard to alleged death threats made against her by Sara Crase, the daughter of Belinda Wolfe. The sheriff's office failed to respond.
On 10/25/2005 District Attorney Farley Ward's office obtained an arrest warrant for Barbara Ellison on a misdemeanor assault and battery count and Ms. Ellison was arrested when the Undersheriff and two deputies came to her home.
On 10/26/2005 Barbara Ellison walked into the LeFlore County Sheriff's Office and filed a complaint alleging death threats were made against her by Sara Crase on 10/24/05.
In the former instance the DA's office responded with an arrest warrant in about 24 hours. In the latter instance the DA's office has not responded at all.
Two women allege crimes committed against them and on the same day. One alleging misdemeanor assault and battery the other alleging threats of death. In the one case an arrest warrant is issued within 24 hours. In the second case no arrest warrant has been issued at all and it is now 11 days since the alleged offense and 9 days since the victim of that offense was forced to travel to the sheriff's office to lodge the complaint.
It appears that within LeFlore County certain persons are exempt from prosecution. It also appears that certain persons are unjustly targeted for prosecution.
On what basis one falls into the first or second category is not clear. It would be a lot simpler if District Attorney Farley Ward would issue little badges, medallions or even paper stickers which contain the letters "FoF" to denote Friends of Farley. At least that way law abiding persons would know not to bother complaining when crimes are committed against them by a FOF.
As District Attorney, Farley Ward is required by the US and Oklahoma Constitutions and state law to apply the law fairly and equally.
When do you reckon he is going to start?

If I may suggest something, you may want to take down the link for the Neighbors From Hell website. It's not a friendly website, and I see the members as being detrimental to your cause. Here are a few quotes from the website following a post about this matter.
Kylie said: "LeFlore County sounds like a great place to find gummy mouthed banjo players and a bad place to go river rafting "
and then QuietNINlover said:
"Reminds me of another movie line, Kylie...."Squeal like a pig!" LOL ("Deliverance")"
My wife visited the Neighbors from Hell website recently, through your link, and asked a question in one of the threads about "Boom Boom Hoopties" and got a rather snide answer questioning her intelligence.
It seems this website is run by a few people who want to degrade posters in order to keep this site as their own, for their own cliqish reasons.
Thank you for your consideration, and keep up the good work reporting this very serious matter.

The Neighbors From Hell site has been having some issues with moderation, or more accurately the lack thereof.
Your wife's unpleasant experience when visiting that site is unfortunate.
We will keep an eye on the threads there regarding LeFlore County and if linking to the site continues to be an issue we may need to remove the link, link only to specific threads or individual posts or eliminate the linkage completely.

"In the former instance the DA's office responded with an arrest warrant in about 24 hours. In the latter instance the DA's office has not responded at all."
The reason is there are no terroristic threatening laws in Oklahoma. But there are laws against Assault and Battery.

I think the Neighbors From Hell link should stay because it's a good site in general where people can go to share their experiences with bad neighbors as well as sharing suggestions on what to do about them.Just overlook the bad posts. They are no doubt put there by some of the bad neighbors.

The name Kylie sounds familiar. I need to go back and check the forums. On the CLNK forum there are 4-5 people who oppose Barbara, but they all use at least 2 and some 3-4 user names to make it look like there is an army of them standing in front of the Sheriff and DA. Half of these people are my age (62) or older and they behave like 3rd graders when they sit down in front of a keyboard. Those of us who are familiar with them know who they are by the language they use, their punctuation, their misspelling of words, and take it in stride. We amature sleuths are amazing.

In the first place, anyone who accuses Mr. Ward of favouritism does not know him or his record as a public servant very well. If one would research into it, they would find that he does not now, nor ever has he played favourites. he does not so much as waive traffic tickets for people he knows, let alone those he's related to! Once I asked to borrow an ink pen but he declined because it was bought by the state and should only be used for official busines.
Secondly, the Wolfes accused Ms. Ellison of throwing rocks at them but the DA's office declined to charge. If Mr. Ward is biased, why would he not have supported these charges?
Thirdly, it's easier to prove assault and battery verses mere threats.
